WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Manage the speaking engagement request process from initial inquiry to contract signing.
• Source new speaking engagement opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound prospecting efforts.
• Evaluate viability of speaking engagement requests determining if because I said I would should commit to the opportunity.
• Engage in a consultative selling approach when evaluating speaking requests- negotiating solutions to earn business.
• Secure speaking engagements with targeted humanitarian and nonprofit organizations.
• Develop robust speaking schedules for Founder and other because I said I would staff.
• Develop a strong pipeline, manage, track, and report on all sales activities via Salesforce.com.

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE SUCCESSFUL?

• 3+ years of business-to-business inside sales experience
• Experience working with Salesforce.com or similar CRM preferred
• Exceptional negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to successfully work to reach company goals in an environment in which a wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.
• Works well under pressure and meets deadlines.
• Ability to effectively communicate with senior level decision makers within organizations and successfully handle objections and demonstrate negotiation skills

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Reporting directly to the VP of Operations and Development, the Event and Fulfillment Manager will:

• Collaborate with event organizers at client organizations for speaking engagements to ensure event details related to the merchandise and resource table are fulfilled.
• Partner with shipping vendor to ensure merchandise and resource materials are shipped to event organizers and arrive at correct location on time.
• Secure, schedule and train volunteers to staff the because I said I would Resource Table at events across the country.
• Manage the fulfillment process that sends out products, promise cards and other necessary shipments.
• Train and maintain a schedule of volunteers based on order volumes to ensure promise cards and other necessary shipments arrive to requester on time.
• Monitor inventory and forecast needs based on upcoming events; placing orders with vendors as necessary.
• Communicate and negotiate effectively with suppliers, supporters, clients and other third parties.
• Assist in the research, evaluation and execution of new products (e.g., t-shirts, journals, etc.)
• Create marketing material, sales/promotional campaigns and write product descriptions
• Communicate with customers over email, on the phone, or in person to ensure customer satisfaction
• Manage the online retail store

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE SUCESSFUL?

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Hospitality Management or equivalent degree and professional experience
• Excellent organization skills and experience with event, inventory and vendor management
• Strong ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and work assignments with grace under pressure
• Must be detail-oriented, resourceful and highly organized.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, professional working environment.
• Ability to interact with variety of audiences, from college students to senior professionals
• Able to lift 35 – 50 pounds

Reporting directly to the Director of Chapter Impact, the Social Media Manager must be entrepreneurial in nature with a strong social media background and a proven track record of online engagement. This role will strategize, plan and execute compelling content, as well as contribute creative ideas that will increase because I said I would Chapter program participation. The Social Media Manager is responsible for managing the execution of daily communications across social media, websites, email, webinars and other digital formats.

• A creative storyteller who understands how to connect with social audiences on social media platforms using great copy, images, video and interactions..
• An investigator who uses data and analysis to determine what tactics will build effective conversion campaigns
• An experimenter who is constantly looking for new ways to surprise, delight and inspire viewers.

What will you do?

• Develop strategy for communication platforms and communities (including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, etc.) to increase awareness of and participation in because I said I would Chapter programs and the overall movement.
• Build a unified and consistent brand for all because I said I would Chapters across various social media platforms.
• Develop and maintain a content guide and posting schedule for all because I said I would Chapters to utilize in Chapter communication efforts.
• Develop innovative and creative marketing campaigns to increase awareness of because I said I would.
• Conduct one-on-one interviews with supporters to learn more about their promise stories
• Write engaging stories and post content to because I said I would Headquarters social media pages and website
• Develop effective measurement tools to evaluate the overall impact of social media campaigns.
• Establish and implement social media and press release strategies for all because I said I would Chapters.
• Write and disseminate press releases for because I said I would Chapters
• Foster relationships in Central Ohio to recruit members and build local Chapter programs.
• Participate in because I said I would Cleveland Chapter meetings.
• Research and recommend other social media platforms for future use.

What it takes to be successful?

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or equivalent degree and professional experience
• 3+ years of direct experience managing social media campaigns required
• Knowledge of online marketing strategies
• Understanding of SEO, social media algorithms and Google Analytics
• Extremely strong written communication skills; adept at audience engagement and tone setting
• Ability to learn new software systems quickly
• Proven ability to engage, connect and build an audience across channels.

Role and Responsibilities

Because I said I would is a growing international social movement and nonprofit. Reporting directly to the founder, the writer will be responsible for using the written word to express ideas or tell a story. Create content using various multimedia formats that can be read, listened to, or viewed on screen. Responsibilities in these areas including but are not limited to:

• Develop scripted material for web and other communication devices
• Develop original content using the written word to clearly and effectively communicate
• Write content for the website
• Work with entire team to revise and rewrite content as needed
• Edit written communication
• Write content for brochure, flyers, press releases, newsletters
• Conduct interviews with supporters in order to write his or her story
• Create creative shareable content
• Assisting in writing a book of short stories
• Utilize desktop and publishing software

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Qualified candidates will have a college degree in Journalism, Fine Arts, Communication, PR, Advertising or equivalent degree and professional experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as outstanding attention to detail, ability to learn new software systems quickly, and outstanding creative development and execution with quick turnaround time.
• A proven track record on projects and work samples.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with nonprofits, political campaigns or social movements.
• Experience with writing content for websites or printed publication.
• At least 3 years of experience as a content writer.

• Utilize knowledge of your local community to increase awareness of because I said I would Chapter
• Develop and implement new marketing and social media campaign from the ground up, with the goal of increasing local Chapter meeting participation.
• Partner with because I said I would Headquarters in researching to how better reach certain market segments and determining specific events to be present at to promote local because I said I would Chapter.
• Attend local monthly because I said I would Chapter meetings.

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE SUCCESSFUL?

• Recent college graduate or upper level college student that is studying marketing, business, public relations, nonprofit management or a related field.
• Proven leadership thru involvement in at least on extracurricular or volunteer activity
• Effective storytelling skills to recruit supporters.
• Able to take on multiple projects, work independently and manage time to meet deadlines,
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Drive
• Have a strong local network

Position will be based in Akron, Ohio OR Columbus, Ohio (Two positions open) Hours are flexible.
