ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting directly to the Founder & CEO, this position will be entrepreneurial in nature with a strong history of content writing and a social media background. This role will strategize, plan and execute compelling content, as well as contribute creative ideas that will increase participation at because I said I would programs. The Social Marketing Director is responsible for managing the execution of daily communications across social media, websites, email, webinars and other digital formats. Other responsibilities include the following:

• Write engaging stories and content and post to drive increased website traffic
• Develop strategy for communication platforms and communities (including public relations, traditional media, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Email, etc.) to increase awareness of and participation in because I said I would programs and the overall movement.
• Create and manage multi-step promotional email campaigns
• Build a unified and consistent brand for because I said I would across various platforms.
• Write and disseminate press releases for because I said I would programs
• Develop innovative social media marketing campaigns to increase awareness of because I said I would.
• Develop & implement effective measurement tools (website analytics / social media ROI) to evaluate the overall impact of all campaigns.
• Research and recommend other media platforms for future use.
• Conduct one-on-one interviews with supporters to learn more about their promise stories

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Journalism or Marketing.
• Five to six years or work experience writing compelling content
• Experience in creating a strategy for and implmenting said strategy across multiple social media and other platforms
• Strong interviewing skills and experience with sensitive subjects

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Reporting directly to VP of Character Education, the Senior Motion Graphic Designer is responsible for the creation of all digital content and high- quality 2D animation to share the because I said I would message. As the Motion Graphic Designer you will work closely with staff developing creative and impactful images.

Responsibilities in these areas including but are not limited to:
Design:

• Design new graphics for new products, banners, flyers, packaging and other promotional material.
• Design infographics and other visual elements that clearly communicate sometimes complex messages or concepts.
• Creates graphics, animations and sounds as needed.
• Script, storyboard, allocate resources and set deadlines for projects.

Production:

• Creating and composting 2-D motion graphics
• Determines lighting needs, sets audio, and positions video camera to determine appropriate shots of persons and objects.
• Operates appropriate video cameras, audio recorders, lighting fixtures, audio-mixing boards, and related video production equipment when required.

Post Production:

• Creates graphic elements based on company brand standards.
• Gathers various elements for postproduction including Keynote graphics, on camera video recordings, audio recordings, pre-designed animation elements and stock music.
• Researches stock footage, music and images; obtains proper licensing for assets.
• Post production work including, but not limited to, color correction, stabilization, and effects
• Edits and verifies content for accuracy and esthetic value.
• Compresses completed projects for online distribution
• Organize and manage video assets in a library/archive

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE SUCCESSFUL

• 3+ years’ experience in a similar position
• 3 years’ experience with Adobe Creative Suite After Effects, InDesign and Illustrator
• Have concise and professional communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure without compromising performance or accuracy in a deadline-oriented environment
• Works effectively with others in a collaborative team environment
• Can work independently with minimal supervision, while able to follow direction
• Ability to think creatively
• Strong organizational skills. Attention to detail and accuracy

Supervised by the Fulfilment Manager, this is a great opportunity to assist with data entry and processes necessary for the packing and shipping of promise cards, supplies and merchandise to because I said I would events, chapters and supporters. Although not required, this role will also be invited to attend regular weekly staff meetings and other staff-organized activities. Training will be provided. Typical activities will include but are not limited to the following:

• Preparing event supplies for shipment
• Assisting with special projects that may include folding, cutting and printing needs
• Packing, weighing, labeling and shipping merchandise and supplies
• Counting promise cards
• Data entry for leads and lead verification
• Uploading event photos and contact information in the database
• Data entry for chapter, speaking engagement, fundraising, newsletter and character education inquiries from events

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Use of MS office suite – basic Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
• Candidate must be available for a consistent weekly schedule (can be determined with the Fulfilment Manager).
