Asking the homeless to draw a picture…
“My hope in these requests was just to connect with people who are usually ignored. No, it wasn’t some generous philanthropic act. I just think everyone has a story and deserves to be listened to.”
Nate, one of our chapter members in Denver, decided to write a promise card. Click to see the drawings he was given and the stories behind them.

Katie Spotz, the youngest person to row across the Atlantic Ocean and 2010 Glamour Woman of the Year, attended our first two Cleveland chapter meetings.

Sam Kimura,

Co-Founder of
Sharing America’s Marrow
, attended the first Denver chapter meeting. Sam has been featured on CBS Nightly News, The Steve Harvey show and many other programs for her life-saving promise

Diagnosed with severe Aplastic Anemia, Sam and her sister sold their cars, bought a van and road tripped across all 50 states to sign people up for the National Bone Marrow Donor Registry. Despite finding life saving matches for over 100 people, Sam still takes 20 pills a day to fight off her disease and has been unable to find her cure.

Our character education lesson plans (
free for download) are spreading across the United States. We are ramping up for the 2016-2017 school year. Last year we conducted in-person character education programming with over 30,000 students.
Over the next 12 months, our goal is to release 20 more lesson plans for teachers to use in classrooms. We are also expanding our Teacher Advisory Council in the near future (stay tuned). After completing the initial phases of our local chapters for adults, we hope to start
because I said I would
clubs in high schools and middle schools. This will take some time, but we are dedicated. If we want the next generation to have determination in their character, then we must continue to invest in building these programs.
In the meantime, if you’re interested in having a series of
because I said I would assembly speeches in your school district, please
