Long Island: Shovel for your neighbors

“I always wondered why somebody doesn’t do something about that. Then I relaized, I am somebody”. – Lily Tomlin

What if that one thing you dreaded doing the most was done for you? We found out during our February Unified Promise!

Our Chapter Members took it upon themselves to do random act of kindness, shoveling our neighbor’s sidewalks and driveways. Shoveling snow can be tedious, but a necessity, and impossible for some of our elderly neighbors.

We contributed over 24 hours of snow shoveling. The cold didn’t stop 27 Chapter members from helping 25 homes in our community. Sometimes you need to look no further than across the street to make a difference.
