Speaking Engagement Event Volunteers

Make a Real Difference with Your Time!

At our charity, we believe in the power of community support to foster resilience and mental health in schools, prisons, and families facing bereavement. Our events, including heartfelt speeches and meet and greets, play a crucial role in our fundraising efforts, bringing in an average of $2,500 per event! This support is vital, contributing significantly to our annual operations. Your volunteering time and dedication can help us continue to provide these programs and offer a beacon of hope to those we serve. In addition to attending the speech given by because I said I would Founder Alex Sheen, or COO Kay Spatafore, event volunteers have the opportunity to help spread our message with event attendees.

We will email you the specific event details and instructions closer to the event date, but here are some general thoughts on how you will spend your day as a meet and greet volunteer::

  1. Locate the boxes that contain the meet and greet materials and bring them to the designated table.

  2. Follow the instructions on the table cloth to set up the table with the banners, brochures, and merchandise.

  3. Greet the attendees and answer any questions they may have about our charity and our work.

  4. Assist the speaker by taking notes of any important feedback or suggestions from the attendees.

  5. Collect donations for the merchandise using cash or the clover machine.

  6. After the event, pack up the table and the materials and label them for return shipment to our fulfillment center.

Training for this position will be provided prior to the event. If you have any questions, please contact us at volunteer@becauseisaidiwould.org.
