Thanksgiving Project: Sleeping outside for two weeks in Cleveland, Ohio

As part of a because I said I would charitable project, I will be sleeping outside for two weeks, including on Thanksgiving, to help awareness and donations for the needs of the homeless. During this time of year, it can be easy to say that we are thankful. Through a status update. Perhaps a clever tweet. This year I want to feel a deeper sense of appreciation for the life and education my father afforded me.Donations received from November 19th to November 26th be used to benefit The Cleveland Foodbank and The 2100 Lakeside Men’s Shelter, Ohio’s largest homeless shelter. I also encourage you to donate directly to these organizations! Donate here! The pictures below tell the story of these two weeks:

Duct tape, a tarp and some PVC piping…

The PVC piping is from another because I said I would project that I will announce in a month or two…

I sleep on an old mattress pad cut out and a piece of unused drywall.

Tent complete.

It kept getting colder and colder. The tent was cutting it, so I had to make a new one using the same supplies plus cardboard and zip ties. Huge thanks to a coworker who donated the cardboard and zip ties.

Snow on night 5. Cleveland winters can be harsh…
