This is Cruz. Cruz stumbled across a Wikipedia article about a man named James Harrison who started donating blood in 1954. After the first few donations it was discovered that James’ blood contained an abnormally strong and persistent antibody that saves babies who are dying from Rhesus disease, a form of severe anaemia. Through the donations of his plasma, it is estimated that Mr. Harrison helped save the lives of over 2.2 million babies.

Inspired by this quote, Cruz decided to write this promise card. According to blood center records, Cruz has made 30 blood donations so far. “I just knew that I could do this or die trying 80 years from now…”
